What do you call an Influencer who doesn't Influence Anybody?

ME.  The Resident Writer, the Christian woman next door who is a wife and a mom and who has a blog. The blogger who is happy to have 3 followers.  (You guys rock!)   Then again, according to Stephanie McNeal, " . . . influencers strive to create a sustained and stable flow of content that inspires loyalty from their followers."  That describes me perfectly.  I'm not trying to sell you anything or convince you that you should buy glasses that suit your face as well as mine do.  I'm just doing what I do privately-writing my thoughts down to clarify them-, but I'm doing it publicly, and to be perfectly honest, I don't even know why.  Maybe some of my thoughts will inspire you to have your own thoughts, and maybe you'll give me the honor of sharing your thoughts with me.  Sometimes-especially after I've had too much caffeine-I write just to make you laugh.  Even if you don't laugh, sometimes-oftentimes-I just make myself laugh; and that is fine with me.  If someone were to ask me what I want most out of my blog, it is this:  loyalty.  I'm not looking for followers I don't know, although I love to get to know my followers and form a real relationship.  A good friend of mine once told me something about quarters and a dollar bill.  Whatever the words were, her point was that she'd rather have a handful of true friends rather than a bevy of acquaintances and fair-weather friends.

Then again, maybe I am an influencer--maybe we all are.  I liked my friend's umbrella today, and I may get a similar one.  (Who am I kidding?  I live in Southern California.  Most of my friends don't even OWN umbrellas.)  But that might happen with a t-shirt or necklace.  Once in a while, someone will ask me where I got my shirt/hat/umbrella, implying that they might get a similar one.  Those moments only happen in real life, though, which is where I prefer my relationships to be, but if someone reads about a book I'm reading and decides to get their own copy, that's totally cool.  I have a feeling this book is going to inspire a lot of posts about influencing others, and blogging, and social media, and living in a fishbowl.  It's a fun read, and fun just to think that I am simultaneously reading a book about an English Countess from the 1700s, and social media influencers of today.
